Meet our Audiologist

Vera-Genevey Hlayisi is a qualified clinical audiologist with over a decade of experience in hearing healthcare across the public and private health sectors in South Africa.
V. Hlayisi is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an independent and compliant practitioner.
V. Hlayisi is also a clinical researcher and internationally published academic author in her field with a Masters of Science in Audiology and is currently a PhD candidate pursuing a Doctoral qualification in Audiology focusing on Person-Centred Care.
V. Hlayisi has multiple awards for her excellence in Audiology including being listed by the Mail and Guardian as one of the top 200 young South Africans in Healthcare, the Discovery Health Excellence award and an honorary national medical award for contributions to the hearing health sector by the Affiliation of South African Independent Practitioners Associations.
V. Hlayisi is also a seasoned healthcare leader having served in executive leadership of national professional associations and currently a sitting board member of one of biggest hospital facilities in Africa, Groote Schuur Hospital.
